Challenge
The Bureau of Meteorology needed a better way to attract, identify and hire temporary workers across a wide range of roles, locations and skill sets. Existing processes could take months and were difficult for HR and hiring managers to manage efficiently.
Approach
Acendre Recruit was used to build a talent register that allowed candidates to be captured, searched and matched against skills and locations. The system was tested with staff and refined based on feedback before launch.
Outcome
The talent register attracted about 300 candidates in its first two weeks and helped HR identify suitable candidates more quickly. The Bureau was better positioned to locate qualified applicants for temporary roles across Australia.
